Generation Y? is a regular monthly service of St John's and St Luke's Church,
Colchester (every first Sunday at 7.30 p.m.) It is open to everybody yet has a
particular emphasis towards those in their teens and twenties. The main basis
for our belief is the teaching of the Bible, inspired by God. We acknowledge
Jesus Christ as Saviour and believe that He is at work in our lives and the
world today through the power of the Holy Spirit. Our services very much
reflect this, providing an atmosphere of 'Spirit led' worship and Bible based
teaching. We aim to be cringe free and totally relevant to the youth of today,
but never compromising on our core beliefs. So if loud music, awesome lights,
cosmic teaching and a desire to worship God appeals to you, please read on.
‘Generation Y?’ Taking a Break
‘Generation Y?’ will be taking a three month break after the service on Sunday 7th October 2001. St. John’s and St. Luke’s churches have gone through a process of change over the past few years with the introduction of ‘Cell Church.’ As part of this process of change the ‘Gen Y?’ team needs time to take a fresh look at where the Lord is leading the service. Over the next few months the team will be taking a fresh look at the vision for ‘Generation Y?’ as they seek to help young people discover what God has in store for them, and help to equip, enable and empower them to live it out in church and in their local community. We would like to say a big thank you to you for all your support over the years. Restarting in February 2002 we look forward to seeing what God has in store for ‘Generation Y?’ Please pray for the team and the service over the coming months as the team seeks the Lord for what he wants and as preparations are made for February’s service.
